# Gridwise vs SmartMiles

The clearest difference is ads: SmartMiles at none against Gridwise's shown. SmartMiles also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 75%) and update cadence (every 4 days vs every 3 weeks). Gridwise's advantage is ratings volume (29K vs 12) and chart position (#30 vs unranked). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Gridwise sells 14 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month and SmartMiles sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Gridwise holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Gridwise has 29K ratings behind it against 12, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 75% of Gridwise's written reviews are positive against 100% of SmartMiles's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Gridwise ships an update every 3 weeks, SmartMiles every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
