# KeeperChat Encrypted Messenger vs Cipchat

The clearest difference is review sentiment: KeeperChat Encrypted Messenger at 65% against Cipchat's 20%. KeeperChat Encrypted Messenger also leads on ratings volume (389 vs 61). Cipchat's advantage is rating (4.8 vs 4.2) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 14.0). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Cipchat holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: KeeperChat Encrypted Messenger has 389 ratings behind it against 61, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 65% of KeeperChat Encrypted Messenger's written reviews are positive against 20% of Cipchat's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 3, 2026 respectively.
