# Social Steps vs Strive

The clearest difference is monetization model: Social Steps at free with in-app purchases against Strive's subscription. Strive's advantage is review sentiment (71% vs 62%) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 18.6). On price, rating, ratings volume and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Social Steps sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and Strive sells 14 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Social Steps against 4.8 for Strive. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 5.2K and 3K respectively. Written reviews are what separate them: 62% of Social Steps's written reviews are positive against 71% of Strive's.

Social Steps ships an update weekly, Strive every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
