# Lightspeed Activate vs Promethean

The clearest difference is rating: Lightspeed Activate at 4.3 against Promethean's 2.5. Lightspeed Activate also leads on iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). Promethean's advantage is review sentiment (18% vs 0%) and ratings volume (59 vs 6). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Lightspeed Activate holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 2.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Promethean has 59 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 0% of Lightspeed Activate's written reviews are positive against 18% of Promethean's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Lightspeed Activate ships an update every 7 months, Promethean every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 4, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
