# Applausemeter vs dB Noise Meter

The clearest difference is ads: Applausemeter at none against dB Noise Meter's shown. Applausemeter also leads on review sentiment (50% vs 15%). dB Noise Meter's advantage is rating (3.8 vs 3.4) and ratings volume (125 vs 5). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Applausemeter sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and dB Noise Meter sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

dB Noise Meter holds the better App Store score, 3.8 against 3.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: dB Noise Meter has 125 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of Applausemeter's written reviews are positive against 15% of dB Noise Meter's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
