# Scouting vs Challenge Camp

The clearest difference is rating: Challenge Camp at 5.0 against Scouting's 2.0. Challenge Camp also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 16.4). Scouting's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 5 months) and ratings volume (915 vs 4). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Challenge Camp holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 2.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Scouting has 915 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Scouting ships an update fortnightly, Challenge Camp every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
