# Scouting vs What2Pack

The clearest difference is rating: What2Pack at 5.0 against Scouting's 2.0. Scouting's advantage is ratings volume (915 vs 2) and update cadence (fortnightly vs monthly). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

What2Pack holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 2.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Scouting has 915 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Scouting ships an update fortnightly, What2Pack monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and September 23, 2026 respectively.
