# Scouting vs Storybutton

The clearest difference is rating: Storybutton at 4.5 against Scouting's 2.0. Storybutton also leads on update cadence (weekly vs fortnightly). Scouting's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 2) and ratings volume (915 vs 11). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Storybutton sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Scouting asks for nothing beyond the download.

Storybutton holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 2.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Scouting has 915 ratings behind it against 11, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Scouting ships an update fortnightly, Storybutton weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
