# Microsoft Planner vs DocuWare

The clearest difference is review sentiment: DocuWare at 100% against Microsoft Planner's 28%. Microsoft Planner's advantage is rating (4.6 vs 3.0) and ratings volume (13K vs 2). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Microsoft Planner holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Microsoft Planner has 13K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 28% of Microsoft Planner's written reviews are positive against 100% of DocuWare's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Microsoft Planner ships an update every 6 weeks, DocuWare every 4 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
