# 2FA vs TOTP

The clearest difference is rating: 2FA at 4.6 against TOTP's 1.0. 2FA also leads on ratings volume (41 vs 1). TOTP's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 3) and ads (none vs shown). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. 2FA sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. TOTP asks for nothing beyond the download.

2FA holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: 2FA has 41 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
