# Scanner App vs iScan

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Scanner App at 70% against iScan's 16%. Scanner App also leads on rating (4.7 vs 4.5). iScan's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs monthly) and ratings volume (7.8K vs 1.4K). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Scanner App sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days and iScan sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Scanner App holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: iScan has 7.8K ratings behind it against 1.4K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 70% of Scanner App's written reviews are positive against 16% of iScan's.

Scanner App ships an update monthly, iScan weekly. Both last shipped on October 29, 2026.
