# Boxcar Transit vs Cometeer

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Boxcar Transit at 84% against Cometeer's 41%. Boxcar Transit also leads on device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 17.6). Cometeer's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 4.4) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Cometeer holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 117 and 581 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 84% of Boxcar Transit's written reviews are positive against 41% of Cometeer's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 months. Both last shipped on October 15, 2026.
