# Messana vs SPAN Home

The clearest difference is rating: Messana at 5.0 against SPAN Home's 3.6. SPAN Home's advantage is review sentiment (29% vs 0%) and ratings volume (104 vs 3). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Messana holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SPAN Home has 104 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 0% of Messana's written reviews are positive against 29% of SPAN Home's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Messana ships an update every 3 weeks, SPAN Home fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
