# Digiloom vs MapGenie

The clearest difference is review sentiment: MapGenie at 100% against Digiloom's 24%. MapGenie also leads on rating (4.9 vs 2.7). Digiloom's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 50 months). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Digiloom sells 8 one-off in-app purchases and MapGenie sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

MapGenie holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 2.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Digiloom has 1.1K ratings behind it against 12, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 24% of Digiloom's written reviews are positive against 100% of MapGenie's.

Digiloom ships an update every 3 weeks, MapGenie every 50 months. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
