# 墨记 vs Focus3

The clearest difference is ratings volume: 墨记 at 1.3K against Focus3's 14. 墨记 also leads on review sentiment (88% vs 76%). Focus3's advantage is iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. 墨记 sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and Focus3 sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for 墨记 against 5.0 for Focus3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: 墨记 has 1.3K ratings behind it against 14, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 88% of 墨记's written reviews are positive against 76% of Focus3's.

墨记 ships an update every 2 weeks, Focus3 fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
