# RSS School vs Orcas

The clearest difference is rating: Orcas at 4.6 against RSS School's 2.9. Orcas also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 6 weeks) and ratings volume (256 vs 10). RSS School's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Orcas holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 2.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Orcas has 256 ratings behind it against 10, so its average is the more settled of the two.

RSS School ships an update every 6 weeks, Orcas every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
