# Flapping Unicorn vs The WereCleaner

The clearest difference is monetization model: Flapping Unicorn at free against The WereCleaner's paid. Flapping Unicorn also leads on update cadence (every 2 months vs every 5 months) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 12.0). The WereCleaner's advantage is ratings volume (3.1K vs 5). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Flapping Unicorn against 4.9 for The WereCleaner. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: The WereCleaner has 3.1K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 88% of Flapping Unicorn's written reviews are positive against 93% of The WereCleaner's.

Flapping Unicorn ships an update every 2 months, The WereCleaner every 5 months. Both last shipped on November 3, 2026.
