# Private Text Message vs BCC Text

The clearest difference is review sentiment: BCC Text at 71% against Private Text Message's 6%. BCC Text also leads on rating (4.2 vs 1.4) and ratings volume (147 vs 23). Private Text Message's advantage is device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 16.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Private Text Message sells 6 one-off in-app purchases and BCC Text sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

BCC Text holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 1.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: BCC Text has 147 ratings behind it against 23, so its average is the more settled of the two.
