# AlwaysHome Mobile vs CaptionLens

The clearest difference is ratings volume: AlwaysHome Mobile at 2.9K against CaptionLens's 1. AlwaysHome Mobile also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 16.1). CaptionLens's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.8). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. AlwaysHome Mobile sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month and CaptionLens sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $19.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

CaptionLens holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: AlwaysHome Mobile has 2.9K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

AlwaysHome Mobile ships an update every 2 months, CaptionLens every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and September 30, 2026 respectively.
