# AI Scanner vs Folda

AI Scanner and Folda both sit at 4.6 stars, but that hides the real split: 70% of AI Scanner's written reviews are positive against 0% of Folda's. AI Scanner also leads on ratings volume (9.2K vs 85) and update cadence (every 8 days vs monthly). Folda's advantage is ads (none vs shown). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. AI Scanner sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and Folda sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Folda holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: AI Scanner has 9.2K ratings behind it against 85, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 70% of AI Scanner's written reviews are positive against 0% of Folda's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

AI Scanner ships an update every 8 days, Folda monthly. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
