# NDT vs IR explorer

The clearest difference is rating: IR explorer at 3.1 against NDT's 1.0. IR explorer also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 5 months) and ratings volume (38 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

IR explorer holds the better App Store score, 3.1 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: IR explorer has 38 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

NDT ships an update every 5 months, IR explorer fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 5, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
