# Basic English vs NOPBM

The clearest difference is ads: Basic English at none against NOPBM's shown. Basic English also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.6). NOPBM's advantage is update cadence (every 4 days vs every 3 weeks). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Basic English sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month and NOPBM sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Basic English ships an update every 3 weeks, NOPBM every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
