# NYC Ferry vs Casara

The clearest difference is update cadence: Casara at every 5 days against NYC Ferry's every 6 weeks. Casara also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). NYC Ferry's advantage is ratings volume (55K vs 7) and chart position (#195 vs unranked). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for NYC Ferry against 5.0 for Casara. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: NYC Ferry has 55K ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two.

NYC Ferry ships an update every 6 weeks, Casara every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
