# Ulysses vs HelpTech+

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: HelpTech+ at none against Ulysses's 7. HelpTech+ also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and iOS requirement (17.0 vs 26.0). Ulysses's advantage is ratings volume (2.2K vs 2) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 3 months). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Ulysses sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month. HelpTech+ asks for nothing beyond the download.

HelpTech+ holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Ulysses has 2.2K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Ulysses ships an update every 3 weeks, HelpTech+ every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
