# Fender Play vs Permit Pass

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Permit Pass at 100% against Fender Play's 51%. Permit Pass also leads on update cadence (every 3 days vs monthly) and rating (5.0 vs 4.8). Fender Play's advantage is ratings volume (61K vs 1) and chart position (#130 vs unranked). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Fender Play sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month and Permit Pass sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Permit Pass holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Fender Play has 61K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 51% of Fender Play's written reviews are positive against 100% of Permit Pass's.

Fender Play ships an update monthly, Permit Pass every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
