# Sunface vs MelanoMeter

The clearest difference is rating: MelanoMeter at 5.0 against Sunface's 4.3. MelanoMeter also leads on update cadence (daily vs every 2 months). Sunface's advantage is ratings volume (270 vs 1) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 16.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

MelanoMeter holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Sunface has 270 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Sunface ships an update every 2 months, MelanoMeter daily. Both last shipped on October 14, 2026.
