# STAR vs Avtobys

The clearest difference is rating: STAR at 4.8 against Avtobys's 3.1. STAR also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). Avtobys's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

STAR holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.1. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 33 and 17 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 0% of STAR's written reviews are positive against 11% of Avtobys's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

STAR ships an update every 2 months, Avtobys fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
