# Star Map Tracker vs Atmosphere

The clearest difference is rating: Star Map Tracker at 5.0 against Atmosphere's 4.1. Star Map Tracker also leads on iOS requirement (12.0 vs 14.1). Atmosphere's advantage is review sentiment (67% vs 29%) and ratings volume (73 vs 1). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Star Map Tracker sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and Atmosphere sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Star Map Tracker holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Atmosphere has 73 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 29% of Star Map Tracker's written reviews are positive against 67% of Atmosphere's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Star Map Tracker ships an update every 5 months, Atmosphere every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and November 7, 2026 respectively.
