# Learn Japanese vs Satori Reader

The clearest difference is update cadence: Learn Japanese at every 9 days against Satori Reader's every 3 months. Learn Japanese also leads on ratings volume (2K vs 218) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 15.0). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Learn Japanese sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month and Satori Reader sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Learn Japanese against 4.8 for Satori Reader. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Learn Japanese has 2K ratings behind it against 218, so its average is the more settled of the two.
