# Hayward Poolwatch vs DolphinTech Plus

The clearest difference is rating: DolphinTech Plus at 1.7 against Hayward Poolwatch's 1.0. DolphinTech Plus also leads on ratings volume (13 vs 1). Hayward Poolwatch's advantage is review sentiment (20% vs 8%) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.6). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

DolphinTech Plus holds the better App Store score, 1.7 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: DolphinTech Plus has 13 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 20% of Hayward Poolwatch's written reviews are positive against 8% of DolphinTech Plus's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Hayward Poolwatch ships an update every 3 months, DolphinTech Plus every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
