# Chessvis vs Outpost Chess

The clearest difference is rating: Chessvis at 4.4 against Outpost Chess's 3.7. Chessvis also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (21 vs 3). Outpost Chess's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 70%) and update cadence (every 10 days vs monthly). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Chessvis sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and Outpost Chess sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Chessvis holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Chessvis has 21 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 70% of Chessvis's written reviews are positive against 100% of Outpost Chess's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Chessvis ships an update monthly, Outpost Chess every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on October 5, 2026 and September 22, 2026 respectively.
