# Lokal vs MRIY

The clearest difference is rating: Lokal at 4.9 against MRIY's 4.2. Lokal also leads on ratings volume (171 vs 6). MRIY's advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and review sentiment (63% vs 42%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Lokal holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Lokal has 171 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 42% of Lokal's written reviews are positive against 63% of MRIY's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Lokal ships an update monthly, MRIY every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
