# Sector vs DiffChar

The clearest difference is price: DiffChar at Free against Sector's $3.99. DiffChar also leads on rating (5.0 vs 3.8) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 15.6). Sector's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 3) and ratings volume (20 vs 1). On update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

DiffChar is free to download; Sector costs $3.99 up front. DiffChar sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Sector asks for nothing beyond the download.

DiffChar holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Sector has 20 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Sector ships an update fortnightly, DiffChar weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 3, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
