# Grid Note vs CatCarp Paper

The clearest difference is rating: CatCarp Paper at 4.9 against Grid Note's 4.4. CatCarp Paper also leads on ratings volume (227 vs 40). Grid Note's advantage is review sentiment (70% vs 56%) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 17.6). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Grid Note sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.49 per month and CatCarp Paper sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

CatCarp Paper holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: CatCarp Paper has 227 ratings behind it against 40, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 70% of Grid Note's written reviews are positive against 56% of CatCarp Paper's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Grid Note ships an update every 5 weeks, CatCarp Paper every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
