# Grid Note vs TimeCal

The clearest difference is rating: TimeCal at 5.0 against Grid Note's 4.4. TimeCal also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 70%) and update cadence (weekly vs every 5 weeks). Grid Note's advantage is ratings volume (40 vs 1) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 14.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Grid Note sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.49 per month and TimeCal sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

TimeCal holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Grid Note has 40 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 70% of Grid Note's written reviews are positive against 100% of TimeCal's.

Grid Note ships an update every 5 weeks, TimeCal weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
