# ElkNut vs Catchzone

The clearest difference is monetization model: ElkNut at free with in-app purchases against Catchzone's subscription. ElkNut also leads on ratings volume (260 vs 3). Catchzone's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 4.3) and review sentiment (80% vs 63%). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ElkNut sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per year and Catchzone sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Catchzone holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ElkNut has 260 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 63% of ElkNut's written reviews are positive against 80% of Catchzone's.

ElkNut ships an update every 3 weeks, Catchzone fortnightly. Both last shipped on October 16, 2026.
