# Translate Me vs Translator*

The clearest difference is monetization model: Translate Me at freemium against Translator*'s subscription. Translate Me also leads on update cadence (every 6 weeks vs every 5 months) and ratings volume (27K vs 2.8K). Translator*'s advantage is review sentiment (49% vs 32%). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Translate Me sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Translator* sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Translate Me holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Translate Me has 27K ratings behind it against 2.8K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 32% of Translate Me's written reviews are positive against 49% of Translator*'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Translate Me ships an update every 6 weeks, Translator* every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on November 8, 2026 and November 7, 2026 respectively.
