# Simple Knights vs The Detractor

The clearest difference is rating: The Detractor at 3.6 against Simple Knights's 3.0. The Detractor also leads on ratings volume (28 vs 3). Simple Knights's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 4 days vs every 5 months). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Simple Knights sells 10 one-off in-app purchases and The Detractor sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

The Detractor holds the better App Store score, 3.6 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: The Detractor has 28 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of Simple Knights's written reviews are positive against 42% of The Detractor's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Simple Knights ships an update every 4 days, The Detractor every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
