# Gatha vs Layup

The clearest difference is update cadence: Gatha at every 8 days against Layup's every 8 months. Gatha also leads on iOS requirement (8.0 vs 12.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Gatha ships an update every 8 days, Layup every 8 months. The most recent releases landed on September 15, 2026 and September 19, 2026 respectively.
