# Looking FWD vs Countdown ™

The clearest difference is monetization model: Countdown ™ at free with in-app purchases against Looking FWD's subscription. Countdown ™ also leads on rating (4.4 vs 4.0) and update cadence (every 4 days vs every 10 days). Looking FWD's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (63% vs 42%). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Looking FWD sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $0.29 per 7 days and Countdown ™ sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $0.49 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Countdown ™ holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Countdown ™ has 180 ratings behind it against 32, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 63% of Looking FWD's written reviews are positive against 42% of Countdown ™'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Looking FWD ships an update every 10 days, Countdown ™ every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
