# Notion vs PreAmp

The clearest difference is rating: Notion at 4.8 against PreAmp's 3.0. Notion also leads on update cadence (every 3 days vs every 3 weeks) and ratings volume (90K vs 2). PreAmp's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 6) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 18.0). On price, review sentiment, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Notion sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. PreAmp asks for nothing beyond the download.

Notion holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Notion has 90K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 55% of Notion's written reviews are positive against 50% of PreAmp's.

Notion ships an update every 3 days, PreAmp every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 4, 2026 respectively.
