# Butterfly Surge vs Jelly Evolution

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Butterfly Surge at 100% against Jelly Evolution's 20%. Butterfly Surge also leads on ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (7.0 vs 13.0). Jelly Evolution's advantage is rating (2.9 vs 2.0) and ratings volume (8 vs 2). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Butterfly Surge sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Jelly Evolution sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Jelly Evolution holds the better App Store score, 2.9 against 2.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 2 and 8 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Butterfly Surge's written reviews are positive against 20% of Jelly Evolution's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Butterfly Surge ships an update every 10 days, Jelly Evolution every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
