# Field Console vs Verizon Protect

The clearest difference is monetization model: Field Console at free against Verizon Protect's free with in-app purchases. Field Console also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 16.6). Verizon Protect's advantage is ratings volume (45K vs 1) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Field Console holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Verizon Protect has 45K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Field Console ships an update every 2 months, Verizon Protect every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
