# Eye Reader vs Tarot Fox

The clearest difference is rating: Eye Reader at 4.2 against Tarot Fox's 2.5. Eye Reader also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (weekly vs every 4 months). Tarot Fox's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and review sentiment (17% vs 5%). On price, ratings volume, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Eye Reader sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days and Tarot Fox sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Eye Reader holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 2.5. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 95 and 33 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 5% of Eye Reader's written reviews are positive against 17% of Tarot Fox's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Eye Reader ships an update weekly, Tarot Fox every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 4, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
