# Shortnotes vs Collectionist

The clearest difference is ads: Shortnotes at none against Collectionist's shown. Shortnotes also leads on device support (4 vs 1). Collectionist's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 2 months). On price, in-app purchases and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Shortnotes sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Collectionist sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Shortnotes ships an update every 2 months, Collectionist weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
