# The Kode vs Maliks

The Kode and Maliks both sit at 4.3 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Maliks's written reviews are positive against 83% of The Kode's. The Kode's advantage is update cadence (every 4 weeks vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (98 vs 15). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

The Kode holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: The Kode has 98 ratings behind it against 15, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 83% of The Kode's written reviews are positive against 100% of Maliks's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

The Kode ships an update every 4 weeks, Maliks every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
