# 12th Tribe vs BITS Marketplace

The clearest difference is review sentiment: BITS Marketplace at 100% against 12th Tribe's 46%. BITS Marketplace also leads on ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). 12th Tribe's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 5 months) and rating (4.3 vs 4.0). On price, in-app purchases and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

12th Tribe holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 4.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 4 and 1 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 46% of 12th Tribe's written reviews are positive against 100% of BITS Marketplace's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

12th Tribe ships an update fortnightly, BITS Marketplace every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
