# UseCrypt Messenger vs Wypiek

The clearest difference is rating: Wypiek at 5.0 against UseCrypt Messenger's 3.8. Wypiek also leads on monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and update cadence (weekly vs monthly). UseCrypt Messenger's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (74% vs 50%). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. UseCrypt Messenger sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $14.49 per month and Wypiek sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $2.59 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Wypiek holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: UseCrypt Messenger has 18 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 74% of UseCrypt Messenger's written reviews are positive against 50% of Wypiek's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UseCrypt Messenger ships an update monthly, Wypiek weekly. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
