# Hg vs Devo

The clearest difference is rating: Devo at 5.0 against Hg's 4.3. Devo also leads on review sentiment (86% vs 47%) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 16.0). Hg's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (259 vs 2). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Devo holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Hg has 259 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 47% of Hg's written reviews are positive against 86% of Devo's.

Hg ships an update every 2 weeks, Devo every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
