# IQ vs Brain training

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Brain training at 100% against IQ's 42%. Brain training also leads on rating (4.7 vs 4.0). IQ's advantage is ratings volume (16 vs 3). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. IQ sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per 3 months and Brain training sells 5 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Brain training holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: IQ has 16 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 42% of IQ's written reviews are positive against 100% of Brain training's.

IQ ships an update every 6 weeks, Brain training every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
